Dear Prospective Parent,
Welcome to Holy Name Catholic School. We would like to invite you to consider enrolling your son or daughter in our school, a school rich in history, founded in 1914. As you are considering possible choices for your son or daughter’s education, I encourage you to give prayerful consideration to Holy Name Catholic School.
Christ is the foundation of the whole educational enterprise in a Catholic school. His teaching and life inform the school’s identity and characteristics. His sacramental gifts build up the community and prepare its members for a share in the mission to bring His light to every person and situation. The special character of the Catholic school and the underlying reason for its existence, the reason why parents should prefer it, is precisely the quality of the religious instruction integrated into the overall education of the students.
There is something special about our parish elementary school which provides a very unique niche for students and families alike. With the close physical connection and collaborative spirit between the parish and the school, the faith dimension truly permeates every aspect of the school programming and calendar. As an example, we have mass with the whole school community once a week, and four times in the school year there are opportunities for the Sacrament of Penance. The religion curriculum is excellent and comprehensive, and every other discipline in the curriculum is in every way competitive with any of our other nearby schools.
We are blessed with an excellent teaching staff and a very capable principal, Dr. Katy Worman. Parental involvement is an essential part of everything that happens at Holy Name. Over the decades, generations of families have continued to choose Holy Name. I hope you will consider joining this great tradition of faith and quality education!
We are looking forward to having you on board with us in the years ahead and assuring you of our prayers for you and your family in whatever decisions you make for your sons or daughters.
With gratitude and joy,
Fr Glenn Whewell
Pastor, Holy Name Parish
