My name is Susan Schmidt. I have been  teaching at Holy Name Catholic School for the past eight years. I teach religion, computers, and health to 5th-8th grade students. I also teach sign language to the Pre-K students.

I believe we must be loved into relationship with God, and I work to facilitate my students in knowing Jesus in this way. This year I will have the 5th grade  students for Religion Class. On Monday's we will explore  *God Things where each person is allowed to share where God is in their life. (A God Thing is what people without faith call coincidence.) Many students tell me they didn’t think they would have anything to share on God Things Day, but they are now watching where God is in their life and have many God Things to share.  This year I want to work with the students to help put out the positive.  There is plenty negative in the world and we as Catholic/Christians must be the positive force of Jesus in our world.

I teach at HNCS because God has blessed my life and my family. I want the children to know the joy of having Jesus in their life.  We are special at Holy Name Catholic School. We have GOD in our school.

*God Things could be as simple as getting an unexpected letter from someone that has been on you mind.  Ask your student for more information.
