Spring Concert: The Spring Concert is next Thursday, May 20 at 7 p.m. in the HNCS gym. Students should wear a non-dressy outfit that meets the HNCS dress code requirements. The program includes students in grades Pre-K - 8. PIP Notice: All PIP hours have been tallied! For any incomplete hours, a statement is attached to this newsletter with a balance due. Each family is required to pay $10 for each PIP hour not completed. Please contact Carol Craig at 673-7270 with any questions or concerns. Cookie Mass: Cookie Mass is next Friday, May 21. Students in the following family groups are asked to please bring 1 dozen cookies for this Mass: Ms. Tera, Mrs. Steele, and Mr. Rojo's family groups. These students include: Makayla, Jacob, Jared, Catherine, Madeline, Wyatt, Antonio, Gloria, Xander, Kale, Liz, Jessica, Bell, Nicole, Jaxon, Katelin, Seth, Alyssa, Anthony, Allison, Taylor, Joseph, Presley, Amelie, Katelyn, Carly, Sam, and Gennah. Please note: if more than one student in the same family is listed above, please just bring 1 dozen cookies per family. Yearbooks are here! They can be purchased in the school office for $14. Lunch Reminder: You are more than welcome to come eat hot lunch with your student(s) in the cafeteria, but if you are planning to do so, please be sure to call the school office in advance so that we may plan ahead to have enough food. As we move toward the end of the school year, we need to provide the cafeteria with an accurate lunch count. Thank you very much! Lost and Found Table: Don't forget to stop by the lost and found table in the HNCS lobby before the end of the week! All unclaimed items are being donated to the Thrift Store tomorrow after school. Preschool Openings: Holy Name Preschool has openings for summer care. Join us for exciting activities in a safe, loving environment. Call Lori at 674-7009 or stop by the preschool to register. Health Tip: Kids may be getting too many calories from snacks! Kids snack frequently - usually about 3 times each day. These snacks can add more than 150 calories per day, which can mean 17 pounds of excess weight gain each year. Additionally, more kids are snacking on junk foods so they are increasing their intake of sugar, fat and sodium without adding more beneficial nutrients. There is however, no need to completely eliminate snacking. It is recommended that instead, portions are monitored and healthy options are given. Low-calorie, healthy snack options may include: Talent Show: Be thinking about what you want to do for the talent show. Remember, it is on the last day of school, June 3, at 10 a.m. Track Uniforms: If you participated in track and still have your uniform, please stop by the office and turn it in.
